Accountants have tax time. Florists have Valentine’s Day. Astrologers, we have eclipses. It’s our busy season.
And why is that? Because it’s kind of when everything feels rather intense for the collective, particularly if you’re impacted (for the July eclipse season, I’m talking to you, my cardinal loves – my Aries, Cancers, Libras & Capricorns). It’s when you feel the desire to make huge, life-altering decisions. “I’m going quit my job!!” “I’m moving to Bali!!” “I’m breaking is the engagement with Steve!!” and so on and so forth. It’s a bit like a pressure cooker, where there’s an embedded feeling of “now or never.”
Eclipses are cosmic course corrections, so they are often timed with fated new beginnings or endings. If you haven’t been living your truth or your highest potential, you can expect the eclipse to be a wakeup call, in the form of something beautiful new entering or something stagnant exiting, rather abruptly. It is considered that these new starts and endings are tied to the soul’s growth and purpose, so fear not the recalibration!
Does this mean we should be initiating these course corrections? Not necessarily. Remember, my celestial beings, Mercury is retrograde. July eclipse season is a beautiful time to pay close attention to the revelations that come up and use the time to come inward. You’re not seeing the situation clearly (“eclipse brains” my mentor calls it), so July is best spent reviewing.
Embracing Cancer, Releasing Capricorn
These eclipses are falling in the axis of Cancer and Capricorn. This axis is concerned with stability and security. North Node brings blessings, so you can find expect eclipse brings fated new beginnings in the sector of your chart ruled by Cancer. As well of an embracing of Cancerian principles and values collectively.
Cancer rules the internal world, of emotion, intuition, family and home. Capricorn rules the external world, of career, reputation, public persona and prestige. This axis is a call to take the focus away from what looks good to the outside world and dive into what truly fulfills us emotionally. What FEELS good rather than looks good.

My sensitive little crabs, when North Node is expanding your energy, it becomes a bit ravenous and you may feel forced into the spotlight. This July eclipse will be hitting your 1st and 7th houses, so the axis between self and other. Where the South Node is (Capricorn) has a theme of sacrifice – so you may find your friend, your business partner or your significant other shows their true colors. It may be an unpleasant discovery. Since your energy rules the past and you all are such compassionate beings, you may not want to let it go. Eclipses may jar you into action to love yourself enough to disconnect from the people who do not support you.
It’s really a time to lean on your own strength, your own you-ness. Shine, Cancers! Come out of your shell! Be grateful for what’s been revealed about those other people – but more importantly, how these discoveries revealed how strong and self-sufficient you truly are.
Gemini Sun or Rising
You may need to sacrifice some support you’ve been receiving from others, moral, emotional or otherwise with the July eclipses. Cancer rules your 2nd house, which represents prioritizing going out and getting your own coin, investing in yourself and your own dreams rather than waiting on others to bring it towards you. You may get cut off from a source of other person’s money you’ve been reliant on (spouse gets a paycut, parents cut you off, child support check bounces). What it’s asking of you is to develop your own finances and value yourself higher.
Taurus Sun or Rising
Taurus, your very belief systems could be being rocked this month. You may feel a crisis of faith, as a religion or vision system crumbles beneath you, or you gain a new perspective on it. You could be feeling lost or confused what the point of it all is. Honor the feeling of being lost, as those periods of feeling lost often come right before a MAJOR new awakening. You’ll be feeling more social in Virgo season, just allow yourself to feel and create through July.
Aquarius Sun or Rising
When the heck did life get so busy? When you find out, please let me know, Aquarius. You may find yourself at your wit’s end this July eclipse trying to keep everything together in the mad rush of what it takes to upkeep your life. You may need to let go of some sleep (ugh), time alone or your spiritual practices in order to maintain the very real aspects of life – exercising, eating healthy, answering your emails and letters at a timely matter, keeping the house clean. Trust that life will slow down eventually and expect your daily efforts to pay off. Rather than hiding away and isolating from your problems, try to tackle them head on and put in the work.
